LOVE OR OBSESSION?
BIBLE TEXT: SOS 5: 7- 10
Song.5.7 The night watchmen found me as they patrolled the streets of the city. They slapped and beat and bruised me, ripping off my clothes, These watchmen, who were supposed to be guarding the city. (MSB)
Song.5.8 I beg you, sisters in Jerusalem--if you find my lover, Please tell him I want him, that I'm heartsick with love for him. (MSB)
Song.5.9 What's so great about your lover, fair lady? What's so special about him that you beg for our help? (MSB)

So many singles who claim to be in love today are merely obsessed with someone they find attractive or someone who tick their imaginary boxes.
Love is deeper beyond feelings, and care needs to be taken so that singles will not end up building something as permanent as marriage on such a flimsy foundation.
Obsession is blind, and appears desperate and compulsive. Obsession ignores warning signals, and sees an imaginary good in a toxic environment.
Obsession does not take warnings from watchmen, and tends to be love sick. Feelings are built around the physical attributes of the other person ignoring their soul and spirit.
Obsession lacks self control and throws caution to the wind. Obsession is fiery, and filled with uncertainty while love is patient, kind, and offers stability.
MEMORY VERSE FOR THE DAY
1Cor.13.4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. (NIV)
DECLARATION
I'm a son/daughter of God Most High, and seek to please my father. I have discerning Spirit, so I do not choose temporary frivolities over divine stability. I'm controlled by the Holy Spirit, so I do not fall into obsession that destroys. I'm a kingdom priest, and I protect the sanctity of my emotions.
