Tanker Explodes Along Otedola Bridge, 54 Cars Burnt, Full Details Here


A tanker full of petrol explodes on Otedola bridge, Lagos-Ibadan expressway and the explosion burnt many cars and many were also burnt to death as a result of the inferno.


Although the number of casualties cannot be estimated due to the fact that many that many who could not escape the explosion got burnt along with their vehicles on the bridge, the emergency response team of the country claimed that 9 lives were lost and about 54 cars were burnt as a result of the inferno.

The fire outbreak which happened at 5:23PM  Nigeria time is said to have claimed lives of children, adults and valuable items were lost along with burnt vehicles as many struggles to escape the fire.


The cause of the accident according to report was that a Mack tanker truck carrying premium motor spirit (PMS) known as petrol fell when the break of the tanker failed and its content was spilled on the bridge, this resulted in the inferno that claimed many lives and vehicles.
Work in going on to clear the bridge by recovering all lost vehicles in order to facilitate safe passage of other vehicles and also evacuate bodies of burnt victims.

With the incessant killing happening in Plateau State of Nigeria due to the attack launched by Fulani herdsmen, the country is thrown into a state of anxiety and fear as many religious organizations embark on fasting and prayers for God’s intervention in the affairs of Nigeria.
